Who We Are
8/23 is a Bahraini multi-disciplinary Design Studio founded by a group of young and talented creative minds with diverse specialties that came together with a distinctive intention of exploring the world of architecture, with spaces that weave human heritage and artistry in a contemporary and technologically advanced way, that acts as a rich and living source of inspiration.
With various innovative approaches brought together, and with decades of experience, 8/23 is set on a solid ground to give the customer the comfort they would require in any setting of their daily life echoing the push and pull between public and private. 8/23 is dedicated to create living spaces that echo your needs and desires, while choreographing the dance of the light, shadows, space and form, and finding the perfect home for your visions and dreams.

Bassem Barsoum
Managing Director
An imaginative Architect with many years of experience in several leading Architectural firms. Basem holds a Master’s Degree in Interior Design and a Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture. Basem has worked on a diverse range of commercial and residential large scale multi-purpose projects, with roles that include planning, designing, construction documentation, and project management. Basem is a collaborative individual and enjoys finding innovative solutions to the built environment to ensure project standards are met with the client and the company’s design caliber.

Mohamed Alzeera
Chief Operating Officer
An Architect and Interior Designer, with several years of experience on various projects with reputable firms. Mohamed is diligently focused on creating and developing architectural designs for multi-scale projects which include: public/civic buildings, residential towers, private villas, commercial units, as well as urban planning and interior design. Notable projects include Bahrain New Airport Arabic Corner and the VIP terminal Building. He delivered several projects from inception to completion with a strong eye for detail.

Rayana Sayyar
Director of Projects
Rayana is a talented architect with a deep passion for art, design, and travel, and brings a unique innovative approach to her work. With a meticulous eye for detail and diverse experiences, she continuously pushes boundaries and thinks creatively in her designs. With a Bachelor of Science in Architecture and ten years of experience, Rayana's portfolio showcases multi-purpose residential buildings, high-rise retail spaces, educational facilities, and captivating landscaping designs. Collaborating with clients, Rayana executes their vision through cohesive design, functional spaces, and collaborative environments. She draws inspiration from spaces that leave a lasting impact. Rayana's dedication extends beyond her profession as she actively contributes to community projects, using her skills and expertise.

Aisha Al Abbasi
Interior Design Director
An expert in Interior Design, having several years of work experience within the industry in respected design firms. Aisha holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design along with many other professional degrees. Aisha’s experience ranges from large scale to small-scale projects, including individual residences, shopping malls, healthcare facilities, coffee shops, retail shops, restaurants and many more. Her roles include planning, designing, consulting along with project management.
